Jeremy Byrd

pastor

FAMILY – Married Stefanie on January 12, 2001 in Livingston, TN; 3 children: Anna (6/29/06), Liam (7/20/09), and Isla (8/30/10)

SALVATION – In October of 1985, an evangelist named Carlos Walker held services in the small country church pastored by my grandfather. One evening I felt called to salvation, but was afraid to meet with Brother Walker during the invitation. After services, my grandfather led me in the decision to surrender my life to Christ.

MINISTRY CALLING – Having been accepted to college in the pre-optometry program, I thought my life was all mapped out. Little did I know God had other plans. In June of 1997, God called me into the ministry. I didn't know what that would look like, but I knew I couldn't imagine doing anything else with my life. I was given the opportunity to preach my first message in September of that year.

EDUCATION – I earned a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (HIstory and Psychology) from Tennessee Technological University before going on to study at the graduate level. I have studied at several institutions, but hold degrees from Temple Baptist Seminary (Master of Ministry, 2009), and Union University (Doctor of Ministry, 2015).

MINISTRY FOCUS – My primary calling is to equip the church by serving, teaching, and preaching the Word of God. It is in His Word that we find truth, hope, and instruction.

John Hume

Associate Pastor

FAMILY – Married Paige in Arlington, TX on May 13, 1995; 2 sons: Cameron J. (9/25/98) and J. Kelley (10/8/02)

SALVATION – When I was 9, revival services at my church caused me to begin thinking about salvation. So I talked to my dad while we were cutting wood on our farm and he helped me understand and ask Jesus into my life to be my personal Savior that day.

MINISTRY CALLING – My continued involvement in church helped me realize my gifts and strengths and how God wanted to use me in every aspect of my life. At camp in the 8th grade, I felt God leading me to give my musical abilities over to Him. I wasn't completely sure what that meant; I just knew that's what I was to do. From that moment on, God developed in me a love for music and a love for students. In my senior year of college at a Baptist Student Union event, I realized that God was leading me to seminary to further equip me for vocational ministry.

EDUCATION – Master of Arts degree (Religious Education) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1995; Undergraduate degree in Music Education from the University of Louisville in 1991.

Robb Rockwell

Associate Pastor

FAMILY – Married Bambi (1994) in Tampa, FL; 3 children: Hayley (3/17/98), Sydney (12/14/00), Lance (3/20/06)

SALVATION – When I was 8 years old, my life was changed by a teacher who explained to me how to make Jesus Lord of my life.

MINISTRY CALLING – After graduation, I spent a frustrating year trying to figure out what God wanted me to do. When I finally stopped to listen, I realized that God wanted me in full-time service. I began by serving my Florida church as youth pastor, but before long recognized my passion to work with children and families. After a couple years in ministry, my family and I left for seminary in Texas for proper training and education.

EDUCATION – I hold a Master of Arts in Christian Education degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts in History from University of Florida (1999).
