Kairos @ Lincoln Avenue

Launching in September 2023, Kairos is a discipleship pathway designed by and for Lincoln Avenue. Kairos includes weekly prayer requests from three target areas, a weekly Scripture memory verse, and daily Scripture readings from the Old and New Testaments. Kairos is a church-wide program aimed at united our church family in devotion to prayer and Scripture. Whether as an individual, couple, family, or Group, we invite you to join us on this discipleship journey!

Step one - Get the book

Everything you need for Kairos comes in one convenient package! Pick up a book in the church lobby during the months of August or September, or any time in the church office. Books are $5 a piece, just to cover printing costs. But, we want you involved! So if you can't buy a book, let us know and we will get you one anyway!

The Kairos Discipleship Guide gives you helpful information on how to use this discipleship path. Each week begins with a summary of that week's readings, the week's prayer requests, and the week's memory verse. You don't have to do every single thing every week, but we encourage you to!

The weekly readings are broken up into five readings (Monday-Friday) with space to jot notes down about what you've read. At the end of the week, there's a full page for you to take sermon notes on! This book is a one-man-band!

Step two - Make a plan

As you get started, you have a few things to decide! Think through these things:

- Who am I taking this journey with?

- When will I read/pray/write each day?

We believe the key to success in this process is making a plan. When we decide in advance when and how we are going to do these things, it will be easier to get into the routine. Take some time to decide how you're going to walk down this path.

You may choose to read individually, with your spouse, as a family, in a DGroup, or some combination of those! You might choose to read the daily readings every morning, and pray every night. Whatever the case, remember that God has grace.

DGroups are a great option for walking alongside others through this journey. DGroup members read individually throughout the week, and then meet once a week to discuss what they have read and pray together. We have lots of DGroups that meet at different times. If you'd like to do Kairos as part of a DGroup, or maybe be a group leader yourself, click here to register.

Step three - invite someone

Kairos is an excellent opportunity to dive into Scripture with another person who may have never done anything like it before. Think about who in your life you could invite to meet weekly to discuss the readings and pray together. You could even buy their book for them as a bit of a getting started present!
